Tertiary healthcare is specialised consultative care, usually on referral from primary or secondary medical care personnel, by specialists working in a center that has personnel facilities for special investigation and treatment.
Patients who require advanced medical care like hospitalisation and advanced treatment, the Samithi has entered into ‘Alliance partnership’ with reputed hospitals in strategic locations across the state. On a predetermined date, the Samithi arranges transportation to take patients to the partner hospitals for further investigations. If any of the patients are found to require surgical intervention, the Samithi arranges the requisite funding by approaching donors from the community, tapping government schemes, etc. Cancer and burns care, neuro and heart surgery are examples of tertiary services.
